    A woman on death row thinks she has the system beat. Earlier, she had another prisoner who cleans the death watch cell, plant a shiv for her later retrieval.

    She nervously waits for her transfer. Eventually the guards come in and take her.

    In the cell, she finds the shiv and waits for an opportunity. It eventually comes in the form of a young, shy guard. She starts to seduce him and when he is distracted, she acts.

    When it is over, she is sure they are going to have to put her on trial again for murder--it will be dragged out for years and she would probably live a full life before it could ever happen.

    But the guards come and give her the bad news. Seems they do not want to press charges and the guards family was invited to sit in on her execution today as planned.

    Now she sits in chair as they strap her in---her sad, pathetic life, flashing before her eyes.

    The switch is flipped and she is fried. They fry her again, then check her heart and fry her once more for good measure.

    After, they unstrap her and drag her off.

    They lay her in the cold room on a metal table and leave her for the medical examiner to process and eventually incinerate her lifeless shell.

She would be back in her cell soon enough. She asked for a radio instead. Relaxing to music, she faded off only to be woken by a breaking news report. Her clemency was denied. She would be executed. Wenona could nto think. She could not understand. Was this happening. Her stomach was in knots. This could nto be true. This could not be. She got up--paced her cell, a pained look on her face. The guards tried to calm her. What could they do. They knew nothing about what was happening to her. When they cam to get her, she struggled. Down the long walk, she struggled more. But, when they entered the execution chamber and she saw the chair--all rational left her. She melted and freaked out. She wanted to be somewhere else. They could not do this. She did nto deserve this. She fell into herself as they strapped her to the chair. Thoughts of her wasted life racing through her. Straps and more straps--why did they need so many. She was secure. She was breathing heavy, her eyes covered, she just waited--her stomach twisted, her mind falling down a pit of nothingness that she, not anyone could comprehend. And the switch was pulled. Electricity raced through her body. She tensed against the many straps. Veins and muscles expanded and tightened. After several seconds, the juice was turned off. She might be alive. Her brain certainly was not. They juiced her again. This time much longer. When it was over, they checked her for a pulse. If there was one, it was faint. One more time they juiced her. Once more time they checked her pulse. She was dead. They unceremoniously unstrapped her and placed her on the gurney. They stripped all her clothes off and took off the eye cover. Check it out!!! She was trying to decide, but did not want to. How cruel was this---electric chair or lethal injection. Why was it her job to choose. Well, no way was she going to choose the electric chair. Still, she did not answer. She simply did not want to die. She was only 22. But a solution came to her from a friend across the hall. She told her to choose the electric chair, because they had so many problems with prior executions, they would likely commute her sentence to life just to avoid the risk. Time went by, then she saw the papers. They gave her the delay--only three days while they checked the equipment. She was starting to worry that this was a bad plan. But now, her friend was gone, taken to solitary--on suicide watch. They came in and gave her a sponge bath. She had known these guards for a while--they just did their job. But, the one, he was getting a little wondery with his hands during the bath. She actually didn't mind. Then, she remember, they were supposed to kill her in a few hours. They applied lotion to her skin to aid in the current transfer Then, a plug was shoved up her ass. That was unpleasant. Shackled, she waited---started to freak. Then the guards came in. It was time. She really freaked out. They dragged her off and to the chair. Hyperventilating, moaning, screaming---it was all happening as they strapped her in for the only time. She would never be doing this again. It was this series of lasts that freaked her out the most. And now, it was all coming to a head and happening way to fast. She did not care what the observers, guards, or anyone thought--she was a fucking scared. And then, the sentence was read. And the clock was checked.
